The first instrument I owned was a violin I got for my 8th birthday. (I don't have it anymore and I don't play anymore)
Phire1 · 51-55, F
@flowerboy Do you still play it?
flowerboy · 22-25, T
@Phire1 No, I wish
Phire1 · 51-55, F
@flowerboy Can always get another one, right?

I played the trumpet through my middle school years and high school years. I was in the marching band, symphonic band, and the jazz band. I loved every minute of it. I don't play anymore sadly. But, I have wonderful memories.☺

@Indy74 I played the trombone first then the trumpet in middle school and was also in the marching band. I was horrible though because I was too lazy to practice 🤣.

@SubstantialKick 🤣👍️😉

The family piano came first then the guitar. I have 3 guitars and a organ. I've played all my life.

Piano. Yes I still play. It's a family thing. When I was a teen it was a way to Make quick cash. I would ask hotels to play at the lobby and get small cash for myself and my friends. I cant sing to save my life but I can play piano for a quick buck lol....Love it too as well :)
@Phire1 I want to encourage you. Please make time for it ..you won't regret it. Remember when you have no other way, you can always make a quick buck ☺️

@Awfullybrave For the last 5 yrs, I've put most of my time into getting a degree in a certain field. If I spent the same amount of time learning the guitar, I would possibly be an expert at it by now

Probably a harmonica. Then a trombone then messed around with guitar but never was any good at any of them. Never really took the time to really learn.
Phire1 · 51-55, F
@rjc36 I became more interested in paying bills....
rjc36 · 56-60, M
I to admire those who can play an instrument. @Phire1

@Phire1 that's just the responsibility of life. 🙂

I had like a little plastic guitar. It probably was a ukele but I never really played it properly. Recorder was first real instrument. I play that very rarely now but do still have recorders lying about here.

@FORMERLYbatovn My older son learned the flute. He doesn't play it anymore, though.
Phire1 · 51-55, F
@FORMERLYbatovn Versatile, you are

I started with a cheap recorder, and no, I don't play it anymore. Then, when lessons became available at my school, my parents rented a flute for me, and I stopped playing when the lessons stopped. I don't own or play a guitar anymore, either.
4meAndyou · F
@Stereoguy At least I can read music. 😊

Drums at 12 years old.
Synyster · 51-55, M
@Phire1 Yes, I have a drum set here at home, but my son plays more than I do. I started playing guitar 2 years ago.
Phire1 · 51-55, F
@Synyster I can imagine how proud you are to be able to teach your son drums
Synyster · 51-55, M
@Phire1 Yeah, he's really good, might even be better than me.
