A lot of Fallout fans hate the show because of how many inconsistencies and plot holes it creates with the games
According to Bethesda Game Studios executive producer Todd Howard, who is involved in the show's production, the show is canon with the timeline of the video games. While it does indeed create inconsistencies and plot holes with the games, as a Fallout fan myself, it doesn't bother me at all. Why? Because it creates such huge deviations from the games for something that's supposed to be canon that I don't take the idea of it being canon seriously. In my mind, it's a series based on the games, but not canon with it. Much in the same way as a show like Twisted Metal or Arcane: League of Legends. If they're serious about the show being canon, then it'll be interesting to see how they develop the in-game universe of the Fallout series from these changes they've made. Until then, I really love the show and think it's incredible! To me, it's a love letter to the fans.
