I want to make a sit-com

Standard family, usual sit-commy type things. Nothing ground breaking, not even really overly funny. Maybe erring on the side of cheesy.

BUT.....

every episode, never acknowledged, somewhere in the background, the same extra can be seen. He may just be passing by, may be sitting in a booth at a restaurant the family is eating at, checking the mailbox in the apartment complex they live in, maybe delivering a pizza. Or as they walk down the street, he's walking behind them, about half a block away. Sometimes, he'll intentionally turn to look at the family as they walk by on the street. Occasionally he'll scowl at them. Creepy background events, subtle, only noticeable if you know what you're looking for.

The very end of the first season finale, like while the end credits are rolling, late at night, everyone's asleep, the house is quiet. The front door slowly opens, and he quietly walks in to the house. Fade to black.

Season two starts and the entire premise of the show changes to straight out horror with the random background dude being the antagonist.

I hope you get this off the ground. If you think of it as if you are writing a play it may help you get your teeth into it.

And season 3 is a Crime Drama, where the constabulary of the Town have to call in the Feds to help stop the crime spree of the BG guy!

There was an older, female bar habitué on Cheers who later showed up on Frazier as an employee at the radio station. I've tried to find out who the hell the actress is but, so far, no luck.

Edit: - - Character actress Joan Carey (1921 - 2015)

This. This is what the world needs.
