Sometimes TV series can go on too long and lose the plot

Handmaids Tale degenerated after a while. I sort of was interested for three series, after that? I think it went over long.
Rectify. Watchable for three series, after that, became rather slow.
The Wire - Five Series, 60 episodes. I found this truly compelling viewing

depends on the series. Breaking bad is a prime example of a show that went on for a perfect length
