@Carazaa maybe there was some background information looked into the passengers by the film makers or just sheer coincidence

@smiler2012 Her uncle wrote about Dagmar's tragic story, he lived in New York. But I think the director wasn't thrilled about "Rose" going back to Sweden. He might have liked a happy American ending to the movie Titanic. And He probably just said to his friend in America that Rose was about her to make her feel good, knowing full well he "took" the story from Dagmars uncle. That is what I think might have happened. Because if he had said he took the story from someone else, or the girl was really Dagmar, then he needed to compensate the writer, and maybe even Dagmars family for the millions he made off of a true story.

@Carazaa 🤔now you come too mention it was dagmar a character in the `1997 film did he belong too the white star big wigs sailing on its maiden voyage
