I would say the French...they started liberty
helenoftroy2000 · 22-25, F
@Afterlife I think they are. If you check a text and a string search of the database of words spoken, you will see that at least 5 times, the French were mentioned
Afterlife · 70-79, MNew
@helenoftroy2000 Maybe only because Captain Picard was from France.
helenoftroy2000 · 22-25, F
@Afterlife I don't know who or what it is. I just found the searchable database

The Ferengi. The connection should be obvious. Yankee traders.
ekwalizur · 41-45, M
@Alyosha but they seem to be more specifically modelled on Jews! I was amazed Hollywood let that go
Alyosha · 36-40, M
@ekwalizur In the very first episode Data compares them explicitly to Yankee traders. The Jewish stereotypes about big noses and such seems to be coincidental.
ekwalizur · 41-45, M
@Alyosha actually the way were initially intended is very different from how they evolved. By DS9 their values and them always being played by Jews seemed very stereotypical. They even had a Merchant of Venice episode

I wasn't even thinking about the noses but now that you mention it, good point

Romulans

Dawkins covered it in his extensive research. Romulans are a direct biological offshoot of Vulcans and share common ancestors.
WolfGirlwh0r3 · 36-40, T
@KiwiDan Ferengi you mean
KiwiDan · 31-35, M
@WolfGirlwh0r3 I meant the ones that are aggressive and unreasonable. But Ferengi works too

Crazywaterspring · 61-69, M
@Tastyfrzz Best answer!
Probably more Ferengi than Romulan or Clingon, especially when it comes to politics.

Organians

More evolved than the rest of you
helenS · 36-40, F
All alien races are Americans, of course.
... and that's not only true for Star Trek, or any other SF show. Roman gladiators, medieval knights, etc., have always been Americans.
SleepingWithGhosts · 46-50, M
We are the Borg. Time to assimilate.
Thevy29 · 41-45, M
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Thevy29 Actually a referral to a different continent. Yet it is supported by the Ferengi.
IM5688 · 70-79, M
Well, the Talosians, (from The Menagerie,) and the Plutonians, (The Man Trap,) and the Stratos City Dwellers, (The Cloud Minders,) were all control freaks...kind of like today's democrats...LOL
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@IM5688 Please look up where republics came from as well a the terms "Republican" and "aristocrat". 😂

I do mean the Etymology of those two words!

Plutonians is a direct referral to Plato! Who wanted Republican senators. Plato's Republic. And aristocrat is a direct referral to Aristotle.

Both were against democracies. So was Socrates. Socrates himself was will killed for being subversive (controlling).
ROFL! What's hegemony got to do with being the Borg!
Duhhhh Nile. Duhhhh Nile runs through it.

For the moment not even the Ferengi.
The Borg.
Resistance is futile.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Roundandroundwego please remember that I am equally against capitalism. Communism is not against capitalism. China is a prime example of capitalism at its worst. The corporate entity is totally capitalistic. And China has thousands of them.
@DeWayfarer communists are the only coherent political opposition to capitalism. Nothing you can do, it's only going to get worse, the West is fascist and nothing you can do, communism is something you lie about forever and voila! Hopelessness is your only fate.
As a leftist I get your gaslighting smug stance!
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
@Roundandroundwego Think of China's corporations like a Borg ship. That is the problem with capitalism! It's insidious. It's like a malignant growth. Some are bigger than others.
Munumbis · 46-50, M
The people on Trek are going to be more flamboyant and more vaudeville than a mundane American would be. An American's life isn't entertaining. He's stuck in traffic or waiting tables. That’s not entertaining.
Sidewinder · 36-40, M
I dunno... Earth Humans?
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Ferengi of coarse.
