The original series was on in the early 90s when I first lived on my own. It was in that 6 - 6.45 pm slot which was ideal for me to watch while I was eating my tea. Later that same spot would be filled by Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

I watched it long before that . I’m 68 and I watched it as a kid. I’m guessing 1970 @Jacko1971

@Repete I must have seen it before then as I watched all the films on release at the cinema.

@Jacko1971 Eating your tea? How does one eat tea?🤔
Jacko1971 · 51-55, M
@Luckylu tea is what we generally call our evening meal. It's not technically the correct term but it is the one used the most colloquially.

@Jacko1971 Thanks for the explanation, had not heard it used that way or I just didn’t realize they were referring to it in that manner.
Jacko1971 · 51-55, M
@Luckylu Most will refer to breakfast, dinner and tea. Technically it should be breakfast, lunch and dinner. Dinner is your main meal of the day and for most it is eaten in the evening. We tend to say lunch and tea. Sometimes we say dinner for our evening meal.
