Watching someone you've had a crush on for years get excited over women nothing like you, but you still like them.

Stupid dumb heart.
You’ve just described my college years. One guy in particular, liked a girl he referred to as the ballerina. While I looked more like a lump.

@OlderSometimesWiser it hurts 😭 Especially if it takes a special kind of person to make you feel that way, but they don't even see you... Ouchies.
@AlchemyFox He was well worth liking. But yes, he saw me as a friend but beyond that I was invisible.

I can relate.

But it's been years and I quit all social media to avoid any accidental Snooping by me.

@LifeIsShort understandable.
That sounds like me growing up 😔

I was never The one they wanted

@Teggy Same and still the same. I feel like I know the people I could make happy, and it takes a lot for me to crush on someone. They gotta be special. But they never even look my way.

I remember re-establishing contact with an ex. I wanted to be friends, but she had a bit of a mean streak. She told me about some guy who had left a funny message on her phone and she was like "I thought it was you at first, I was so blown away!"

Anyone but me, huh? Pft.

@SageWanderer humans can be foolish for sure. Was it nice to hear? Or hurtful?
SageWanderer · 70-79, M
@AlchemyFox I think she came to that conclusion knowing how my second marriage turned out. So it was nice to hear for that reason plus I’m over old drama.

@SageWanderer That's cool then. You were remembered through many years.
