Did You Ever Have A Toddler That Got Into Kitchen Cabinets & Tore Labels Off Of Canned Goods?

One lady posted on Facebook that her great-granddaughter did that. The lady opened up every can to see what was in them to use. I wouldn鈥檛 have done that, now she has to use up everything at once. And try to figure out recipes to use them in.

I wouldn't have done that, either...but maybe she really loves making a big mess in her kitchen! I know I do...馃ぃ馃ぃ馃ぃ

@4meAndyou The soup cans are smaller than the other cans. She could have guessed they were soups and not opened them all up like that all at once.

@4meAndyou I had a neighbor in the last apartment complex where I lived. She told me she used to live next to an apartment with a couple of young male college students. She was friends with them but sometimes they would leave their apartment to go watch a game etc. Her and her roommate like to play practical jokes on them and one time they went inside through the open windows and loosened every light bulb in the ceiling fixtures and in each lamp so that when they flipped the switch nothing would come on. When they came home they came over and asked the women if their electricity was on because the lights didn鈥檛 come on鈥ut the tv was working. 馃槀They went over and said something was working so it couldn鈥檛 be the electricity. It took those guys a while to figure out why no lights were coming on. And another time the women got through the window again and removed the labels from the cans and put them on other cans. 馃槀 I don鈥檛 know what the guys thought of that but I think they might have figured out that something was going on. She said they played a lot of practical jokes on the guys and never got caught doing it.

@4meAndyou yeah the can labels especially. I bet they had some weird meals. I don鈥檛 think they stocked up on all that much food so it wasn鈥檛 a total disaster.
@cherokeepatti that is classic. What could you make with all of that?

@Sojournersoul To begin with most of that stuff in those cans I wouldn鈥檛 even buy鈥anned soups are loaded with mono sodium glutamate and consuming those causes me to have heart palpitations. Those canned carrots with other veggies would have a terrible taste after being canned so I wouldn鈥檛 buy those or those canned potatoes either. I would eat the greens as a veggie and the cranberry sauce with roast chicken.
@cherokeepatti I know, I was thinking the same thing

@Sojournersoul The older I get the less processed foods I can tolerate the flavor of not to mention the chemicals. I have canned new potatoes in quart jars, they had the pressure-canned flavor but in the midst of winter when my ex was out of construction jobs they were good to make hash browns with for breakfast or a side dish with dinner. I had to do that using up my stock of jars of home-canned food several winters in a row and was thankful I had them to eat instead of going hungry or begging food off of relatives.
