I Love Godzilla Movies

I can't say I love them, I watched a couple of its movies in my life, then in the recent weeks I watched Shin Godzilla, Godzilla (2014) and King of Monsters.

SHIN GODZILLA was cool and creepy, the movie itself is not bad but has a bit too much of slow pace. Anyway the creature and its evolution is scary, bloody and dark, I felt uncomfortable, like in front of a "real" danger. The nuclear-destruction scene really reminds of war and apocalyptic scenarios like that. It reminded me of the anime NGEvagelion, in fact was co-directed by Hideaki Anno.
I loved the powerful and terrible Godzilla of this movie.

GODZILLA (2014) was definitely mild and a little lame compared to the Japanese film, not scary at all and very Hollywood-style like some Marvel superhero movie, where the menace is not so real, the protagonists are the human and from the beginning you know that everything will end like a happy love story.
Still a not bad monster movie, compared to others (yes I'm looking at you giant robot-vs-monster films).

KING OF THE MONSTERS was really entertaining, and a very good sequel for the 2014 film. Everything was developed and more interesting/less predictable. and the monsters this time were really cool.
Ghidorah was an amazing villain, with a great design, character and personality (for a all-destroying kaiju) I really loved his scenes and this time they were able to create a believable catastrophic atmosphere, something that miss in many Hollywood films.
The other monsters were very good to, Rodan was vicious and dangerous even not being the main antagonist, the moth was super cute and majestic and godzilla was ok too even if not comparable with Shin Godzilla (a very different character after all).
The fight scenes were good too, and to me that's really a good point, since in many other movie are not realistic or intense even if they're supposed to be the focus of the film.

Yeah i really liked King of the Monsters.
I was pretty disappointed with the first one they did but King of the Monsters was great.
So many amazing wide shots and the monsters looked great.

Can you believe i actually spoke to someone who complained about there being too many monsters in a kaiju movie? lol
Understandable but every Godzilla movie focuses on human characters more than Godzilla. The average screen time of Godzilla in all 35 movies including Zilla, is 13 minutes. @Pikachu

I understand that. You can't just have Godzilla on screen the whole time or else it loses its impact. The human activity should be a vehicle for bringing the audience from monster scene to monster scene but shouldn't be pointless or boring because it does have to sustain the excitement between monster fights.
I think King of Monsters managed that better than the first one.

Yes, because when I started binge watching True Blood, my dad got bored because he said there were too many vampires.

Protagonists have pretty much always been the humans in Godzilla

@Jackaloftheazuresand They should do 50/50 like they did in King of Monsters and Shin Godzilla.

Godzilla 2000 is my favorite

@SW-User I should watch that, one day. I remember the one with the slender Godzilla and the Godzilla family I was a kid when I watched it.
