@Cigarguy I started watching GoT again when you began your adventure into the world created by George R.R Martin. As of last night, I'm at the beginning of S5, on Episode 2.
This is the "First-time" I'm rewatching anything from S4 and beyond since the show originally aired the seasons on HBO.
Before GoT S4 aired, I rewatched S1-S3, so technically when I finish it again I will have watched seasons 2-3 three times and seasons 4-7 will be two times. I skipped S1 this time around cause I probably watched that one a few times before this. Season 1.... 5+
I did it for the "A Song of Ice and Fire" books as well. I reread books 1-4 before the 5th one "A Dance with Dragons" was published back in 2011 (when the show came out).
Still waiting for the 6th book, "Winds of Winter," to be finished. It's been 15 years, since the last book was published. I'll maybe reread "A Feast for Crows" and "A Dance with Dragons", when GRRM finishes the "Winds of Winter" manuscript. I haven't done any serious reading in the last decade, cause I was too preoccupied with being an alcoholic. Maybe time to hop back into it. 🤓 That reminds me, last time I read books I didn't need readers. Maybe time to officially get my peepers examined. 😬

@Cigarguy Yeah I imagine, that's difficult to even get any enjoyment out of it, if it's like pulling teeth to even comprehend what you just read.
My reading comprehension has diminished greatly in the last 10 years or so. I sometimes need to re-read a sentence 2-3 times, before I absorb and lock down what was said or written. And that's even with stuff that interests me.
You know like, the articles the brilliant editing staff at Playboy Magazine places within the pages of their publication, for the serious readers of the world. Especially the periodicals. 😉
I was hoping that the majority of this condition was due to my years of alcoholism and the waning time spent no longer reading, would indeed be restored or at least improved. 🫤
