Love Affair or the Case of the Missing Switchboard Operator ( 1967 )

This film is on YT, but it wouldn't show here. But this might very well be my new fave from this daring director from Yugoslavia Dusan Makavejev, yeah there used to be a country called Yugoslavia!! His later film in 1974 for a long time was my official fave, but last couple years, maybe 3, i've seriously thought differently about it, it's too much about shock value that i've grown out of, I still love the musical choices in it.

This little film is much much more innocent, but still packs a punch. What I like about it, is that it has those neorealist qualities, but with bonkers goings on. It also has some quasi documentary elements that cover a theme exploited to the max in the 1974 film. This has, I must say one of the most beautiful actresses i've ever seen in a film Eva Ras, ... I literally just found out while writing this, that's how much I care, I love folks I don't even know their names!! smh .... well she is a looker, and I want to watch it, and I cannot pass up what is available just because it wouldn't play on SW, so if you wanna have some slightly edgy Serbian 60s cinema going on, head on over to YT with the title copied and pasted, .... unless of course there's a region difficulty, then don't sweat it, it's just a film .... oh and what's it about I hear someone ask, and rightfully so, since this is a narrative, this is about a lady the operator, and her romance with a pest control worker, her end isn't a good one btw, in an early part you see her, so it's a little like Varda's Vagabond in that regard, but stylistically it's like a funny version of a black and white Godard film.

The other 2 are The Coca-Cola Kid and Montenegro - have you watched those?

@rinkydinkydoink I’ve not seen those yet …. I love his Innocence Unprotected an homage to the first Yugoslavian talkie, hilarious and poignant at times.

@rinkydinkydoink The 1st time I ever got negative feedback online was on Mubi, when I said how funny this movie was, and someone called attention to the real life war aftermath sequence and supposed I found that funny!! It was like 3 minutes out of 60 odd other minutes, but I sure walked into that one, but it definitely has comic moments in abundance, and the MUSIC!!
@BooksRMe

I will enjoy the movie - all of them, actually - because I want to like them. Plus I'm somewhat ready to be shocked but it's a movie. None of it is real.
