The idea of a "hidden fortress" is a bit odd when you think about it

Why would a fortress need to be hidden? The very word fortress means a fortified construct. Why bother making it a fortress if you're just going to build it in a hidden location? No need to fortify a place as a defensive position if the enemy can't find it in the first place. Hidden bases or outposts make sense. But hidden fortresses? 🤔
