The filthiest movie alive

I remember clearly when I first got this, in a nice big set of John Waters' films from this film on, and that evening we were all invited to our Pastor's home for dinner, I chose to stay home to watch it, a defining point in my life!

Love the songs in it, and the audacious irreverent humor, being alone in the living room means I can enjoy it again after a long long time!!

In regards to shocking cinema, I‘ve been slowly advancing further into japanese pinku films. Recently saw Love & Crime and Joy of Torture by Teruo Ishii. While the female liberation is still not more than a nice thought experiment, its certainly a kind of progression to acknowledge a female form of ‚Heldenreise‘, a hero‘s journey. Very potently filmed, and beautiful at that.

@MrAlmostCrazy Yeah, the supply me too, hehe. How many movies do you own? From your posts I gather its quite the collection.

@Somerset I've never been able to count them yet! I'd say roughly about 4,000. And then some TV shows and some stray docs and special interest stuff like a Joseph Campbell series.

@MrAlmostCrazy When it comes to digitized media, I wouldnt know either. But I‘ve been tracking my collection over on Letterboxd. Right now I own 1623 blurays.

@Somerset That's great!! For me it gets complicated with short film collections. If I tried I could do it, but scared deep down owing to that tale in the OT about King David numbering his army.

@MrAlmostCrazy I always wondered how a comparison between the amount of security the concept of religion gave to the human soul, and the amount of new fears it created in return would look like. But I agree, numbering or naming always also means knowing. And since cultural things resonate with our deepest condition, its very hard to „know“ the shape inside of us, as it is difficult to know the shapes surrounding us.

@MrAlmostCrazy I just feel out of place in the world, irritated by it, and my thoughts are my home. Thank you.
