This is how i'm gonna get back to being a film nut
As i'm diving into the hyper violent 70's work of Kinji Fukusaku, all of his 70s Yakuza films, i'll be alternating with fine films not just Asian, and when I get some money to spend, I will wisely be getting 4 a month, 4 new fine films a month, more if they're cheaper, this is how I started my collection when I went to HMV at the big mall.
As I spend more wisely, there'll come a time once or twice a year where I can perhaps get big box sets!!
I will cease from posting about each film I watch, but will post about when there's a GREAT experience.
Alternating weeks with film and kindle is the bigger picture, or I might do 1 week of film binging, and 2 weeks of kindle reading, as there is way more time needed to read than there is for film.
That is just a sketch, and early stage thoughts. I might want to work on a master list and when its all up to date you all could see what sort of film and show collection I have.
When I sold some of my best stuff, and up till recently I thought it was all over for my collection, but it gives me much happiness to have hope in my heart again that I could enjoy it and start making it grow from years of mistreatment and losing some of the best things that were in it.
I believe so strongly in physical media for film lovers, I urge one and all to support the boutique labels such as Criterion, Eureka, Kino Lorber and all the rest, so that the end comes as late as possible, it's gonna be so sucky when all that's left is streaming platforms where they can edit out anything that doesn't suit the current political standards.
