Did anyone notice in Harry Potter

When in the sorcerers stone Ron cast a turn yellow spell on his rat and failed. And tried to turn his rat into a water goblet in the chamber of secrets movie. It was foreshadowing the fact his rat was Peter Petigrew instead of a rat which is why the spells didnt work? A barely noticable thing but i think thats why the Author added it
