What was the Greatest year for Cinema?

I really remember seeing a few good films in 2008/2009. But it has been a while since I last got excited about seeing an upcoming film in more recent years.

I'm no film snob, so I won't say when. But I will say that, when the Marvel movies were first coming out (whether you love or hate them), theaters couldn't print tickets fast enough.
