Illegalizing homelessness? Dumb!

There is a housing shortage nation-wide affordable or not there is a shortage; especially in certain states\areas. Throwing people that csnnot find and\or afford housing putting them in jail on the taxpayers dime. This is a stupid way to handle this issue.

Of course it's dumb, unless you look at the unhoused as a free labor source.

@LordShadowfire or is housing for labor all that different than paying rent?

@LordShadowfire though to be fair there are work shelter programs for the disabled homeless and mentally ill\deficit already?

@jehova I think you'll find that inmate labor is the last source of free labor in the United States. You don't have to pay prisoners.

@LordShadowfire i worry thats the soon to be "go to" model of employment. Similar to the west's view of "communism". Housing food and healthcare provided for (in a prison) in time thats the model of labor the economy is moving toward. Ultimately
America was a prison colony setup by england in pursuit of "free prisoner labor"?
The similarities are striking!

@jehova And see, that's why privately owned prisons are considered such an evil thing. They're illegal in Oregon, and I would strongly suggest they should be illegal everywhere, but not much I can do about that. Private prisons basically give the owner of the prison a slave labor force they can legally rent out, and there's nothing we can do without modifying the Constitution even further.
