Why don't comedy movies have laugh tracks like TV shows?
Once there was background music coming from an unseen orchestra denoting danger ahead, romantic situations or many other emotional upheavals so why not laughter?

It used to be taken for granted that people watched movies in a theater filled with other people, and so we would all hear each other laughing.
But as our tech-intense culture leads us more and more into isolation, I suppose it is only a matter of time when laugh tracks will be added to streaming versions of movies.
