RIP Kevin Conroy

Unfortunately, Kevin Conroy who many may know as the voice of Batman in Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League Unlimited, and the Arkham games has passed away from cancer at the age of sixty-six.

2022 continues to get shittier.

I never heard of him. I've heard of Adam West, though.
@Sidewinder Yeah, Kevin begin his career as Batman in Batman: The Animated Series, which premiered in 1991. He was the first actor to use a different voice for Bruce Wayne and Batman. He became so popular as Batman in that series that DC used him for almost everything, including the Arkham series of video games and both Injustice fighting games. He did such a definitive job of capturing Batman's tortured personality and the angry persona he put on to hide it, it's actually weird watching an animated Batman movie without him.

@Sidewinder I think the only time you'd have seen him play Batman in live action was in the CW show Batwoman (which was bloody awful) when he played an alternate universe Batman as something of an 'Easter egg'. He was a pretty big deal in the animated and gaming world though.
@Whodunnit I'm glad I skipped the show, but I kind of want to see the Easter egg now.

@LordShadowfire I'd avoid it if I were you, especially in light of Kevin's passing. While it was supposed to be an Easter egg, as with most things CW Batwoman it was pretty disrespectful to both Kevin AND Batman's legacy.

@Whodunnit I've only seen the live-action films as well as the 1960's live-action series. Starting with the 1989 movie, Batman. Then the 1992 sequel, Batman Returns. Batman Forever (1995) and Batman and Robin (1997) I only saw once and didn't care too much for. I've never seen Batman Begins, (2005) but I did see The Dark Knight. (2008) About a year ago, I watched the entire 1943 movie serial, Batman, starring Lewis Wilson and Douglas Croft.
