Is die hard really a christmas movie ?

I clearly feel die hard is not a Christmas movie , its a big action movie that takes place around christmas time . The only part of the whole film that does deal with anything about christmas is the party that takes place in the building . I would say that die hard is one of the best action hero movies that came out of the 80s .

If it wasn't Christmas the building would be full and the robbers wouldn't be able to rob it. The film only works because its at Christmas. There are also plenty of Christmas references throughout the film.
@Jacko1971 Being at night, if it wasn't xmas the building would be empty except for security.

@NativePortlander1970 you would think that Hans would have thought of that. Perhaps he wasn't as clever as he tried to make out. John McLean wouldn't have been there either.

@NativePortlander1970 Nope doesn't he need Mr Nakatamo to open the safe or something? It's been a while, they need the people there.

@Jacko1971 if you take the Christmas setting out , would not change anything . You would still have the bad guys come into the building to steal the companies money .

@Jacko1971 Its like raiders of the lost ark , with or without indy those soldiers would still die by the angels of death .

@NativePortlander1970 a lot of it was posturing. Hans just wanted everyone to know how clever he was. It made his character more endearing.

@Jacko1971 but the plan was he was supposed to (I'm just going off memory now)

@NativePortlander1970 Theo enjoyed his job too much. "The quarterback is toast".
@Jacko1971 As the Scicilian learned the hard way, posturing and monotoning did not save him from the ibogaine.
@GeniUs For nothing more than witnessing that McClain was taking out his people one by one, foiling his plans.
