If you’ve seen Scorsese's "Mean Streets", he put a clip of "The Searchers" in it.
The movie that put the whammy on me when I was thirteen was "Seven Samurai". That made me understand the role of the director. I grew up watching black and white television and remembered watching "Singing In the Rain" only in black and white. The first time I saw it in color was on the big screen and it blew me away.
A top five is impossible choice for me.

@4thdimensiondream Entertainment is only one element in a good movie. Messaging about the past is yet another. It's my own impression that I got more out The Best of Enemies. Perhaps it's because I'm working class and could relate to both main characters easier.
