The Searchers, Gunfight at the OK Corral, Double Indemnity, The Big Sleep, The Spy Who Came in from the Cold. I love I know where I'm Going too. And I enjoyed The Guns of Navarone as a kid! Then there's The Gospel According to St Matthew (Pasolini). And many more I 'm sure.

@MartinII Don't know the last one goog though. For Gospel movie I'd take Franco Zeffirelli’s 1977 television miniseries, Jesus of Nazareth.

If you’ve seen Scorsese's "Mean Streets", he put a clip of "The Searchers" in it.
The movie that put the whammy on me when I was thirteen was "Seven Samurai". That made me understand the role of the director. I grew up watching black and white television and remembered watching "Singing In the Rain" only in black and white. The first time I saw it in color was on the big screen and it blew me away.
A top five is impossible choice for me.

@rinkydinkydoink The "Thin Man" series were great movies,and even decades later,had not become as "dated" as other movies of the era had tended to."Double Indemnity" and "Sunset Boulevard" are on my list too.I saw "Blow-Up" when it was first released here in 1967 - quite a movie experience for me at that time.
