Favorite Woman Actress?

And what role do you think she was best in?
Frances McDormand for me. My fav role of hers is a toss up between Three Billboards outside Ebbing Missouri and of course Fargo.

She was great in Nomadland too.

I loved Meryl Streep in Sophie’s Choice and Out of Africa.

@OlderSometimesWiser phenomenal in Nomadland. That didn’t seem like she was acting. I’ve never seen Sophie’s Choice knowing the basic theme, but Streep is the favorite to win my question if anybody wants to play!
@4thdimensiondream Both women have this extraordinary ability to disappear inside a character so you forget the actress. McDormand actually went out and lived the nomad lifestyle in preparing for the role. And several of the nomads featured in the film were actual nomads.

@OlderSometimesWiser the movie made me very sad but happy too about the life I’ve had.
I am really taking a serious liking to Anna Lambe. She is an Inuk actress on a Canadian show called North of North.

She is very talented and hilarious. Easy on the eyes too.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow I’ll google her but not familiar with her.
@4thdimensiondream She does a great job with North of North. It is a slice of life comedy set in a Inuit community in the far north of Canada.

She has really blown up here showing a modern Inuk woman living her life and destroying 200 year old stereotypes and cliches.

It also through a humourous lens shows some of the culture clash between the white majority and their own community but also shows that alot of what they deal with is not much different from the struggles of any rural small town in the country so there are things we can all relate to as well.

There are a few exceptional ones, but Meryl Streep has always convinced me in what ever role she's in that she IS that character.

Carrie Coon, Rhea Seehorn

@EndlessHorizon did you watch Pluribus?
EndlessHorizon · 46-50, M
@4thdimensiondream Yes. Brilliant.
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@EndlessHorizon I loved it and can not wait for season 2. Obviously you saw Better Call Saul which she carried the show!
Munumbis · 46-50, M
I never thought about it. Those girls all seem the same to me more or less.
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@Munumbis you are entitled to your opinion of course. I have a higher level of respect and appreciation for the acting craft, both men and women equally I suspect.
Munumbis · 46-50, M
@4thdimensiondream Don't know/care.
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@Munumbis we agree on that lol!
I rarely saw a movie or TV show she was in that I didn't like. She essentially played the same type of character - one who knew she was in a movie, that it wasn't real life, so she made sardonic, "what the hell are you talking about?" faces. Her name was Mary Wickes.

Here she is with Lucy - even though Lucy is acting all funny and shit my eyes were on Mary

@rinkydinkydoink I remember her ! The last thing I saw her in was Sister Act ! She was quite tall back in the day, 5’10 I understand.
