I couldn't even get through watching it the first time
SarahTheHooker · 26-30, F

@SarahTheHooker Oh yeah I can never go back to the original I always have to watch the extended editions
Adroneandastrain · 46-50, M
I saw the theatrical versions once, and I had the extended versions but never completed them. Some stellar stuff in them!!
Noah9780 · 26-30, MNew
@Adroneandastrain If you enjoyed what you saw for the most part you gotta watch it all it just gets better and better
So many times. Most during Christmas season
EndlessHorizon · 46-50, M
I’ve watched Fellowship easily thirty times (many more if you include partial watchings). And I love the other two movies just as much, but…the Shire. It just makes me so happy.
Noah9780 · 26-30, MNew
@EndlessHorizon I know exactly what you mean I personally think my favorite is Fellowship
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
Quite a few times. It is one of the reasons I still have a DVD player.
Noah9780 · 26-30, MNew
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow Do you own them in full screen?
PicturesOfABetterTomorrow · 41-45, M
@Noah9780 Yep. For 3 years the box set of each of the 3 movies were my Christmas gift.
Saw the movies in theatre during the original run too.

Noah9780 · 26-30, MNew
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow That's awesome and yeah seeing it full screen is so amazing I have them in 4K but not full screen
Longpatrol · 31-35, M
2-3 times a year since I first saw them in the cinema
Noah9780 · 26-30, MNew
@Longpatrol Right on that's awesome
ronisme1 · 70-79, M
2 or 3 times
SpectralMourning · 46-50, M
I've lost count but at least that many times as well.
Jasmine2026 · F
Have u seen the 4 hour long version of all 3 movie's
RedBaron · M
MoveAlong · 70-79, M
I read The Hobbit and the trilogy. That was enough for me.
Steve42 · 56-60, M
Not as many as I was forced to watch Lord of the Flies.
valobasa4ever · F
Guess what? I’ve never, not once in my life!
Noah9780 · 26-30, MNew
@valobasa4ever I personally would recommend it it's really good
Probably about that many also if not more. I love it. I put them on in the background while I'm cleaning sometimes too lol
Noah9780 · 26-30, MNew
@DancingStarGoddess It's definitely hard to get chores done like that I'd take one seet to watch a minute and hours would pass 🤣
@Noah9780 I dooo😭 I have to stop every now and again just to watch and it makes cleaning so slow lol. But worth it
Noah9780 · 26-30, MNew
@DancingStarGoddess Lol I know what you mean I tried cleaning my room one time and then I ended up stopping and watching the rest of the two towers 🤣
EldritchFox · 41-45, F
Close to 20x and read the books a few times. It's a great escape.
Noah9780 · 26-30, MNew
@EldritchFox I know I just feel so at home with it lol it's something I could watch over and over
WillaKissing · 61-69, M
I have no idea, but at least once a year or so I binge watch it starting with The Hobbit first.
Noah9780 · 26-30, MNew
@WillaKissing That's fantastic I love it and yeah I'm probably around once a year as well
Catastrophe · New
A few times. I read it as well.
gothfairy · F
I fell asleep within the first 5min of the first one 🙁
TheOneyouwerewarnedabout · 46-50, MVIP
Zip. It’s like 10 hrs worth 😳
Noah9780 · 26-30, MNew
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout They re released them in my theaters about a year back and I watched all 3 back to back to back it was around 12 hours with the extended editions
TheOneyouwerewarnedabout · 46-50, MVIP
Adrift · 61-69, F
Saw it once and I will never get that time back.
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
I’ve never seen any of it.
Noah9780 · 26-30, MNew
@Fukfacewillie I personally would recommend it's fantastic
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@Noah9780 Thanks. It’s more about taste. I’m not much a fantasy guy. Haven’t seen Game of Thrones, either. I did read the Hobbit and am interested in Tolkien’s reliance on his experience in WW1 to base the books upon. And, also his goal of elevating pre Norman Invasion Britain.
Noah9780 · 26-30, MNew
@Fukfacewillie Oh I completely understand that everyone wanted me to check out the twilight series but personally it's just not really for me we like what we like right
Elessar · 31-35, M
10 times? 10 times in a year here, maybe
RedBaron · M
None. I didn’t even watch it once.
SnickersDOM · M
Honestly, the "fantasy" genre (and period pieces or the supernatural too) are generally a colossal snoozefest for me ... moreover, if we're going to slip into make-believe, then please let it at least be science fiction, thus futuristic (even if it was a long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away)
About the only thing even tangentially, superficially similar that I can bear is Monty Python's Holy Grail, or A Discovery of Witches, which thankfully only spent a few episodes in the 1500s *whrew*
I lack the genetic ability to even faintly romanticize anything even remotely resembling ye olden dayes before science and modern medicine, et al. and spin it as anything other than what it was, because by any objective standard it was a sh*ttier time, not the least bit romantic, and I don't believe for one minute than anyone who grew up in the 20th or 21st centuries would survive there for long.
