@SumKindaMunster I played a song called this Room. It was different but very good.

@4thdimensiondream His story would certainly make for an interesting movie.
I remember him growing up, it was about the spectacle and crazy stuff he would do, his music was secondary.

Both were on Tubi and both great watches….

@Unefilletrescurieuse I really loved the Greenbook.
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@Unefilletrescurieuse i translated. I took French because my older brother and sister had but I probably should have taken Spanish. It would have proved helpful in various jobs I’ve had through the years,I should add my siblings did not ever help me with French!
@4thdimensiondream
Absolutely not. Lol I’m just a poor white girl in the USA. lol
My fave of the movies mentioned above is BR. Loved it!
I don’t regret taking French but Spanish would have helped me tremendously when working at the hospital.

@JSul3 I know there was the Depp movie based on Lugosi at the end of his career. But an actual bio from the early years would be great.

A new Universal Pictures biopic about legendary horror icon Bela Lugosi is in development by Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way Productions, with screenwriters Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski attached to pen the script.

@Munumbis I googled. Sounds like a very interesting guy that I should have heard of.

@4thdimensiondream He is not given the credit he deserves and his invention has never been used anywhere near its potential. He should have won a Nobel Prize and could have changed history. https://www.jacquesrougeriedatabase.com/project/autopia-ampere

Probably one about The Grateful Dead.

@4thdimensiondream There are a few of em, but I meant a biopic as opposed to a documentary.
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@Sidewinder you’re right I was referring to having quality actors and learning about the origins. I hated the recent movie about Bruce Springsteen and the making of the Nebraska album. It seems the better movies were about the old time rockers like Buddy Holly and Elvis.

Documentaries are going to be more informative than a speculative movie. I did like "La Bamba" a lot when it first came out. The movie was more about the relationship of the Valens brothers, actually half brothers.
BlueSkyKing · M
@4thdimensiondream It seems that there’s always going to be additional speculation. Another one I generally liked was "Sid and Nancy".
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@BlueSkyKing I need to see it. Forgot about that movie.
SumKindaMunster · 56-60, M
@4thdimensiondream Yes, "Sid and Nancy" is definitely one you want to see.
Not a good time laugh riot, but compelling and interesting.

for an actual biography I'd rather see a documentary
movies notoriously have the inability to stay factual / historically accurate, because their prime directive is to entertain / create artificial drama, not to inform

@4thdimensiondream another goofy thing movies (at least US-made movies) have a tendency to do is cast Americans with northern European ancestry in the roles of famous Italian people ... like whyyyy? There are Italian actors too 😂
4thdimensiondream · 70-79, M
@SnickersDOM I guess it’s all about wanting American $?
SnickersDOM · M
@4thdimensiondream I figure it is ... the same reason as the obligatory 30 seconds of gratutious nudity / sex in a film where it genuinely adds nothing to the story
