I use to go in there probably around the early-mid 90s I lived on the opposite side of Reevy Road next door to the youth club.

@AdaXI Did you know Andrea Dunbar? She'd died a while before I was in Buttershaw but I met her sister

@ArtieKat I never met her, I heard she collapsed in the Beacon though in the very early 90s and past on later in hospital but yeah all a bit before my time.

The Beacon is gone now as well it was stood derelict for years...
But last time I past by they'd knocked it down there was just an empty space quite sad really.

@AdaXI Thanks for reminding me that it was actually in the Beacon where Andrea collapsed - I'd forgotten that bit. I saw a stage version once in Liverpool with Nigel Pivaro and Suranne Jones, both formerly of Coronation St.

I need to see one of the RoboCop movies (one made in 2014) - apparently it was filmed all or in part in my hometown.

@rinkydinkydoink The one from 2014 is a remake of the original Robocop film which I think you watched a while back now.

The remake is very by the numbers but I'd imagine it being a lot more interesting to watch if it's filmed in your local area though.

@rinkydinkydoink The original is one of my favourite films of all time but sadly non of the others ever matched it but yeah I still watched em all LOLZ😄
