What is the deal with the new show white movie

I have been watching all the drama surrounded the movie. I'm curious did any of u go see it or what was your reason for not watching it. I most say it is a musical those kind of movies usually don't make a lot of money just look at the sequel of the joker movie. Could it just because it is a Disney movie. Or just another original remake. They usually don't make a lot. Could it be Rachel Ziegler.

Apparently there was anger that Ziegler is playing a white character but... am I crazy? Is she not white herself?

If that's the case, then that's legit racism. Personally I don't like race swaps, because I want the actor to look like the character. But I don't care what their ancestry is, I'm not going to say this white person can't play this white character because their great-great-grandmother was black.
