What's yours?

Watching The Golden Compass with my ten year old nephew, I got into being a child again and decided I really needed my own daemon. Perhaps I was suffering from a Peter Pan complex but when you are around children, their enthusiasm seems to rub off on you.

Or it does me. Like the time I was in the park with both my nephews, I started doing cartwheels along with them, accompanied by a few stares from other people around.
Does it really matter? Once we grow up, doesn't our inner child stay with us forever, just needing something to bring it out once in a while?

So I think I would like a small dragon, about the size of a cocker spaniel. But if it's form represents a characteristic of my soul, lately it would be no more than a theatre going bookworm with a taste for gin and tonic.

Round the Christmas holidays. My Niece and Nephew were staying with me. We went around to my younger brothers to use the Slip and Slide, since he has the bigger yard and (softer grass) I couldn't just sit by and watch, I got involved too. Soft grass my ass! I was bruised head to toe for weeks after. The kids had fun. They keep telling the story of how I slid under the dog and she rode my back like a surf board...

@Thevy29 That is great - it's good to be a kid sometimes!
I spent 30 years teaching martial arts. I trained 3 of my kids and now the grand kids are training. Feeling old now as they can do all the things i used to do. The joints dont work as well now lol

In Philip Pullman's world the childrens' daemons are always changing and evolving. The adults seem to be lumped with a single personality! I love being around children and young people. Their energy and thirst for life are infectious and give me energy.

My daemons are all birds. Blackbird/robin most of the time; sparrow when I'm argumentative; swift for my inner child.
