@matthewjames it's difficult to say having not seen the latest one. As a rule, the rest of the films could be watched in isolation. The original films were made 40 years ago when Harrison Ford was in his prime. He is now 80.

Go watch the sound of freedom. The interesting fact is that the newest Indiana Jones movie was beaten by the sound of freedom bring your hankies I've heard it's a real eye-opener.
