Doctor Who Christmas Specials

There have been a lot of Doctor Who Christmas Specials. Are there any that you particularly like or particularly hate? What about them made you feel that way?

@smiler2012 I don't remember too many of those later episodes. Peter Davison was my Doctor growing up.

The doctor making a Christmas for two kids and overdoing everything in the house.

@meJess if that's the one where Alexander Armstrong is a fighter pilot killed in the war and Clare Skinner is the wife waiting for him to come home for Xmas, thats a very good episode. Very silly of course but very well written.

@Jacko1971 that’s the one, with Matt Smith

Yeah I like them all but I probably remember the first one with David Tennant in most fondly, were he gets his hand cut off and regenerates it.

@Jacko1971 Is Matt Smith and those episodes your favourite era of the modern Doctor?

@AdaXI not necessarily. I have enjoyed it all up til Jodie, bless her. Matt Smith was great coming straight out of the gate. The others took a few episodes to ease into themselves.

I was never a fan, but back in the early '80s there was an independent station out of Chicago. that showed it every Sunday night. I never understood what was happening, but we ALL watched (in college) and ate pizza, drank beer, etc.
