Jeremy Clarkson being dumped from Amazon Prime

@InOtterWords Top Gear has a kinda different reputation in North America and not seeing like -all- of it you miss the fact it would occasionally get racist or blink it away as a one-off problem because frankly a lot of other TV got as bad.

Buuuut looking back on it all and then learning about Clarkson as an opinion columnist. Good lord. They never should have been on TV.

The man was eventually sacked from the bbc....but it was not after he used the n word; or made derogatory comments about indians or chinese people. Nor was it when he commented on Thai's or Mexicans or Scousers

But when he insulted Argentina

Amazon snapped him up ignoring his behaviour and viewers still thought he was ok

The guy is trash

@InOtterWords Actually he was sacked for punching a producer! And yeah. Trash. It took a little bit more for people on my end of the podn to clue in to how bad he was.

@InOtterWords They really filter this stuff out when they dub in another language. I mean I knew about the punch that got him sacked from the bbc and I'm not an avid watcher so maybe I just haven't seen the episodes where it happened, but I had no idea about such comments. 😶

I need to watch more stuff in original language, irregardless

@Elessar His BBC fracka was with a producer and we don't think it was part of the televised show(s). He's a buffoon, Hammond is a whiz kid and May is just a quiet smarty pants. Actually a great trio for motoring shows.
