I just saw a film trailer with a disclaimer that said “only in theaters” at the end

Strange times we’re living in for movies. With so many streaming services releasing films exclusively on their platforms, it’s hard to believe seeing trailers without any disclaimer on where they can be watched, because it was obvious you had go to the theaters to see them, might be a thing of the past now. We may very well be witnessing the beginning of the end for movie theaters! Think about it: what if streaming new movies becomes so much more convenient, why would anyone want to pay for theater tickets that might cost more than what they’re paying monthly?

I don't actually think that's a new phrase. I vaguely remember them using it years ago. I think it was to let people know they would not be able to watch it on TV or video.
