I'm curious what kind of reaction I'll get for this

I don't like Princess Bride. In fact, I think it's only "beloved" like it is because it's so memeable, but I might as well have just burned a Bible in front of the Pope with how people react when they hear that.

Seriously, if I wanted something that cheesy and shallow, I'd get a thin crust pizza.

I think it’s a darling movie. No skin off my nose if you don’t like it.
SoulAsylum · 31-35, M
I think the godfather movie is overrated garbage.
ScrewThisImDone · 26-30, F
@SoulAsylum Yeah, I watched the first one. It was kind of long-winded.
SoulAsylum · 31-35, M
@ScrewThisImDone finaly someone who agrees idk why so many love that movie but to each there own
@SoulAsylum I would rather listen to cats fighting on a chalkboard then watch that movie. Seen about 10 minutes of it in total bored to tears
Redstar · 36-40, M
I thought it was fine but that's it. It has some moments that kind of stand out but I only really remember that movie because other people remember it so fondly, meaning I keep hearing about it every now and then.
It's probably one of those movies you need to see as a kid to get any real attachment to it.

Inconceivable
GeniUs · 56-60, M
It's ok but it's no 'Krull'.
Jeephikelove · 51-55, F
@GeniUs Krull! 😁
GeniUs · 56-60, M
@Jeephikelove
because
It is literally a children's bedtime story that got put on paper and then turned into a movie. Most of us seen it as children and loved it from our youth. It's kind of like adults watching Disney movies it doesn't have the same gravity
ScrewThisImDone · 26-30, F
@Bobby1123422 It is better than the book, I'll give it that. Increasing Buttercup's IQ was definitely the right call.
RoxClymer · 41-45, M
to each their own, my mom doesn't like one of the movie I love and watch yearly

I can also see why you're not into it, it was made for a certain audience and it's over 30 years old
ScrewThisImDone · 26-30, F
@RoxClymer Some of my favorite movies came out in the 70s and 80s, age doesn't really matter to me. I just think Princess Bride is overhyped.
I hear people say the original Halloween is the best horror ever but i am bored to tears by it. Something you had to be there when it came out
ScrewThisImDone · 26-30, F
@Bobby1123422 Yeah, I watched it a few years ago and almost fell asleep. Even with The Exorcist, the only scene that got a real reaction out of me was the part where she gets the IV or whatever in her neck. I've had a lot of trauma in that area so it kind of hit too close to home.
yeronlyman · 51-55, M
In reality “princess” usually means entitlement

Royalty I abhor
My argument is we earn our place
Anyway life is life
@yeronlyman if you watched the movie she states she would rather die than be a princess
GerOttman · 61-69, M
Youse sound like more of a Jawwwwws kinda enthusiast.. am I right?
ScrewThisImDone · 26-30, F
@GerOttman Meh, not really. I marathoned the first three or four of them out of boredom.
KingofPizza2 · 36-40, M
I mean you should get that pizza anyway tbh
Jeephikelove · 51-55, F
I didn’t really like it either. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Isnt it funny, i love it for its cliché cheesiness: its like all fairy tales got condensed into one movie.

But each to their own.🤷‍♀️
