Did you see "A Clockwork Orange" when it first came out, circa 1973?

I think it was rated NC-17 when it was released and very controversial. Fifty years later, it would probably only raise a few eyebrows.

It seems to be very foretelling though.

cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@AnnSteve Have you ever watched it?
AnnSteve · C

@AnnSteve The gang violence.
The changing of terminology.
That is all I can think of, immediately. I have not seen it in decades!!!
AnnSteve · C
@ProfessorPlum77 oh ok. I wasnt sure what was meant by the word foretelling

@ProfessorPlum77 and the sexual triggers & rise in sexual violence, seemed embedded in the culture
Taking a drink for energy at a club
AnnSteve · C
@cherokeepatti other than the nudity, it seemed similar to other british gang movies
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@cherokeepatti Great observations!
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@ProfessorPlum77 It seems that the energy drinks were hinting at adrenochrome.
AnnSteve · C
@cherokeepatti i missed that

@ProfessorPlum77 I only watched it through one time and it was when I was young but it left an impression in my mind about those things, kind of unnerved me with the random violence. Now you see all kinds of random senseless violence, youth wanting to go stir up crap for fun and they’ll attack old or disabled or whoever they perceive to be weaker than they are especially in cities.

@cherokeepatti It is amazing how perceptive some fiction writers are about the future!!!
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@ProfessorPlum77 Or maybe they knew how it was going to be because this was planned to bring down Western civilization to create a one-world global government and monetary system.
AnnSteve · C
@cherokeepatti i think its just a movie
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@AnnSteve You can think all you want but there are other movies and books and popular culture forms that do the same.
AnnSteve · C
@cherokeepatti i have a very hard time believing a movie would bring down civilization
ProfessorPlum77 · 70-79, MVIP
@cherokeepatti Well, there was a novel about an unsinkable ship that struck an iceberg, several years before the actual event. Many of Jules Verne's books were like that, as well.
AnnSteve · C
@ProfessorPlum77 pure science fiction, not fortune telling
cherokeepatti · 61-69, F
@ProfessorPlum77 The Simpsons are full of things like that. And those Illuminati Cards too. I’d like to have the complete set and go through them to see how many have actually happened. The first one that caught my attention was the one with a plane going through the Twin Tower.
