The Shining, is it as good as everyone says?
There are some crazy theories out there, kubrick was either a lunatic or a visionary. If you like the movie, sell it to me.

Kubrick was unique. A lot of directors make the same film over and over again or at least stay in the same genre. Kubrick did one, usually brilliant, film in a genre and moved on. Historical fiction with Barry Lyndon, science fiction with 2001, history with Spartacus, dystopia with Clockwork Orange, anti-war movie with Paths of Glory, war movie with Full Metal Jacket, horror with the Shining, etc.
