What’s your favorite Halloween movie?

Hocus Pocus a classic
JohnnyNoir · 56-60, M
The original Nosferatu
JohnnyNoir · 56-60, M
@helenS but European cinema was highly influential in shaping both world cinema and Hollywood with their films.
JohnnyNoir · 56-60, M
@helenS of course a lot of American cinema beginning in the 20s benefitted from the post war depression and the subsequent rise of fascism in Europe when many filmmakers came to America
helenS · 36-40, F
@JohnnyNoir ... yes, and also composers.
Manfredthemanic · 16-17, M
Yes, Hocus Pocus is good. I liked the cat as a kid. 😊
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
Arsenic and Old Lace.
Killer · 26-30, F
@thepreposterouspanda Sounds interesting.
thepreposterouspanda · 36-40, M
@Killer It's an old Cary Grant film :)
Killer · 26-30, F
@thepreposterouspanda a total babe
chrisCA · M
It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
Killer · 26-30, F
@chrisCA Cute
DollyPop · 18-21, F
I mean my favorite movies of all time could be considered a Halloween movie. Coraline is my most favorite and Nightmare Before Christmas comes close second.
DollyPop · 18-21, F
The book is way scarier than the movie.
Killer · 26-30, F
@DollyPop I totally get that, I find the movie Scream comforting for some reason.
Killer · 26-30, F
@DollyPop Might have to check that out.
HypnoChode · 46-50, M
This isn’t really a “halloween” movie specifically, but my favorite horror movie is “The Witch”.
HypnoChode · 46-50, M
@Killer it seems to be a polarizing movie. Most people I’ve talked with either love it or hate it. There’s some disturbing material, but it’s mostly implied, leaving the gruesome bits to your imagination.
Killer · 26-30, F
@HypnoChode I’ll add that to my movie list. 😉
HypnoChode · 46-50, M
@Killer please do so!
Gangstress · 41-45, F
TeenAngel · F
The very first Halloween movie with Jamie Lee Curtis (1978). It was directed by John Carpenter (The Thing).
Slade · 56-60, M
@TeenAngel Same
Killer · 26-30, F
@TeenAngel Micheal Myers is a Halloween time must. 🔪
Slade · 56-60, M
@TeenAngel Rob Zombie's remake of this is actually good. His other...Nah.

If you like white trash it's an outright feast! Myers family is oustanding

Every year my two must watch Halloween movies are the original Halloween and Trick r' Treat.
Killer · 26-30, F
@SW-User I like your profile pic
SW-User
@Killer Thanks. Was hoping it would spread terror and joy all at once.
Killer · 26-30, F
@SW-User Ha definitely does one of those.
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
Gonna go with the underdog

Killer · 26-30, F
@PerfectionOfTheHeart I haven’t seen this, looks good.
PerfectionOfTheHeart · 46-50, F
@Killer Loved it as a kid. Still awesome as an adult.
SW-User
Scream, without a doubt.
Killer · 26-30, F
@SW-User Yesss another classic
MrAboo · 36-40, M
Nightmare before Christmas
ShadowWorker · 61-69, F
I agree with you, Hocus Pocus!

The song from a band called "Focus"?
helenS · 36-40, F
@chrisCA I believe Focus was a Dutch band from the 80s (70s?), and I love the yodeling in the song, and the guitar lick is excellent!

helenS · 36-40, F
@chrisCA This is even better than the studio version that I've heard! Thank you!
(It looks like the keyboardist is Focus, and the others are more or less an accompanying band.)
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
I always watch (and read) The Shining, come October.
