To what extent is all entertainment just a distraction from the painful realities of life?

BlueVeins · 22-25
Kyle Kulinski once said that if we didn't have NetFlix, YouTube, cable, all that noise, we would've overthrown the government a long time ago.

@BlueVeins YouTube can be an educating force - definitely radicalised me to some extent.

It’s my dads generation that I kind of see watching mindless tv - storage wars, top 100 *** that went wrong etc
BlueVeins · 22-25
@MrMonnyPenny Damn, Storage Wars is good though. If I didn't have YouTube, I'd definitely have thrown myself off a bridge by now.

The word amuse means "without thinking" in its original language. Muse meant to become lost in thought. The A in front of it means without.

@revenant Very true. Yes we are such ignorant beings when we don't understand how people think and what once was thought. The ancient Greeks were especially intelligent and creative. Such deep thought and so much impact on how we think and express ourselves today.

@hippyjoe1955 absolutely. But the past is being taught as being coming out of caves and totally useless

@revenant Very true. Progressives think the world is getting better but can't explain how the pyramids were built.

this is actually a good question, maybe the only good question ive seen this entire month.
I wonder if its fair to classify it as a distraction, maybe its the purpose of life itself to be able to engage in leisure once the rest is taken care of
thiccchungles · 22-25, F
@Zaxel When Annie got revealed that made me like her more. Well if you don't like anyone that much, maybe your heart won't break like mine did 🥺
Zaxel · 26-30, M
@thiccchungles i thought she was a cynical cold hearted bich for no reason, when they showed us she had a reason, i was like aw hell no, girl u was supposed to be my spirit animal. lmao who was it or is it too early for me to know
thiccchungles · 22-25, F
@Zaxel Too early dawg. When you finish season 3 you gotta tell me your reaction.
Pretty much.
I think it's fine, and even healthy to not be thinking or engaged in the stresses of life all the time.

To whole extent..if everyone was happy, the entertainment industry would go bust.
