The word amuse means "without thinking" in its original language. Muse meant to become lost in thought. The A in front of it means without.

@hippyjoe1955 etymology of words is always so deep. Like utopia meaning ou - not , topos - place , so a place that can’t exist. Or avocado meaning testicle in Incan 😂

@revenant Count it a day lost when you don't learn something eh? lol The Muses/Muzes were part of Greek lore and are mentioned in the Iliad. According to ancient Greeks the Muzes were the 9 daughters of Zeus and Mnemosyne. They were named:

Kleio, history
Euterpe, flute playing
Thaleia, comedy
Melpomene, tragedy
Terpsichore, dance
Erato, love poems
Polymnia, sacred music
Ourania, astrology
Kalliope, epic poetry (she holds the highest rank of the Muses)

@revenant Very true. Yes we are such ignorant beings when we don't understand how people think and what once was thought. The ancient Greeks were especially intelligent and creative. Such deep thought and so much impact on how we think and express ourselves today.

@hippyjoe1955 absolutely. But the past is being taught as being coming out of caves and totally useless

@revenant Very true. Progressives think the world is getting better but can't explain how the pyramids were built.
