What is your opinion about Game of Thrones Season 8?

I have read the books and I just binged the entire series and I feel like the series is somewhat boring and it just lacks in so many ways that I feel like the entire situation is not completely explained.
What do you guys think?

The TV series started out great but for me it really started to tank around Season 5 (once the show had covered up through Storm of Swords). Beyond that the show writing just became a clusterfuck. Those that watch and haven't read the books might be shocked to find that there is actually significant plot development that occurs in Dornish chapters, haha.

However even with the huge drop in quality I still thought seasons 5 and 6 were okay. 7 had it's moments. 8 has been laughably bad and I don't expect that to improve with the final episode. I'll still have to watch it though...have come too far.

Yes you must, start from the third book.
The first two seasons are on the same line as the bool

@Gettingthere Seasons 3 and 4 I thought did a pretty good job of covering the plot from Storm of Swords. I think Season 4 just happened to be the first instance where we saw the show was just going to eliminate certain major characters from the books.

I’ve read the books and while I definitely enjoy them better I think it’s important to consider the books and show as two different stories since the show ran out of book material to draw from. I think we just have to accept them for what they are; the books are more plot and world building while the show has become more spectacle. Nothing wrong with either, that’s just how it has to be since George never finished his series

I haven't read the books and they've had a couple of bad seasons on the show before but Season 8 will go down as the worst of them all. And I hate how they're continuing to set up Daenerys as the "Mad Queen". Absolute horrible ending for such a promising show.

@JollyLily portraying the Mad Queen as stupid in front of the people was the worst mistake. They didn't have to kill the second dragon. Period.

@JollyLily ultimate villain is cersei lol. i never thought how they foreshadowed night king for 7 years and then kill wtf just like that. i don't think whatever they missed showing will be a prequel.

This season has really let me down so far. I adored episode 2 and thought it was the beginning of a great trend, but no.

The show got me into the books, and I love being part of that fandom.

The way season 8 goes i think we will have both different stories in books and the show. i think in the show since they want to end it they just rushed things up to finish asap.

@Gettingthere yea i wonder the same. i loved the show but after s8e3 killing the night king was great but just like that it sucks and R R Martin didn't comment on that so i guess it is surely different in books. so once the show ends i might start the books. i think G.O.T fans will have a surprise.

I read all the books earlier and found the show deviated from the books after the 3rd season.. and of course their never was an ending to the story in the books.

@Gettingthere maybe but Martin is not now or ever was in any hurry to write his books.. the producers got tired of waiting for him to finish his next novel.. which of course he never did.. so far I think season 8 has been the worst production wise so far.. too many dark night shots that one an barely make out who is who.. the big battle was almost too much.. hard to see and listen to..

@Gettingthere yea i agree its all business but the producers and RR Martin had different agreement for the show ending i guess.. Am sure the last books will outcome the profit what these shows made.

I watched the first few episodes and never watched it again...same with the walking dead...how this level of violence is entertaining I will never know

@Gettingthere Because of the level and frequency of violence in movies, on tv and even the local news...we have become desensitized...a very dangerous thing
