Why are British political dramas/thrillers...

... so tendentious and tedious?

Seriously, they should stick to costume dramas, police procedurals and farces.

Not just British ones. All political dramas are a dull chore to watch. The subject is just dry, bland, and boring.

Crime dramas are a close second on the mind numb scale.
