Does anyone know the in fiction reason why 99% of the aliens on Star Trek are so, SO human looking?

Yeah you'd think there'd be a few with an extra eye or a tentacle here or there.

Every now and then you see some non-humanoid aliens. But if aliens were as human as they are in star trek, i think that would be good reason to believe in a god
