I watched a new Simpsons episode yesterday.

I feel like the writers room really lost their way on the morality of the show. Homer gets time off work, lies about it, doesn't do anything to help at home, then bitches to people about how he's unappreciated. There was no 'lesson' learned, no moment of clarity, the only 'moral' of the episode seemed to be that Marge should appreciate the things he does more and then he'd make more of an effort.

... But he does nothing. He doesn't work hard at work. He spends time at the bar with his friends, and he does nothing at home. There's nothing to appreciate.

Why do they still make the show?
