Did anyone watch the Golden Globe Awards tonight...

@drymer I live in New York...Long Island to be exact. Not exactly a back woods community. I'd love to know where you live, because if I had a dollar for every woman I saw shoveling snow last week, I'd have zero dollars....and when I was single, women paid for exactly zero dates.

@smmartydude I doubt they’re asking for anyone’s pity. They’re using their voices to bring attention to the issue so that maybe in the future, those “real, everyday women” you mentioned won’t lose their jobs and suffer other hardships related to the experience. If I had been through something like that, I would certainly welcome powerful people speaking out.

@LyricalOne I agree with everything you said, except the pity. I think they do want people's pity...just like the complain they don't make as much as male actors and they want people to care about that. I can't pity them.

@smmartydude The point is focusing on the issues that matter in order to make the lives of real people better. Getting sidetracked with who to pity or not pity does nothing to advance that cause. It’s not a political fight, it’s not a gender fight. It’s a HUMAN fight and we should all work together.

News flash...women and men are DIFFERENT...we are anatomically different, we think differently, we act differently....we will NEVER be the same, so what's the sense in forcing it? Like I said, I do believe in equality...I think a woman and man should get paid the same for the same job...but a lot of women out there will never pay for a date, or shovel snow, or take a car for gas, or fix something around the house....it is what it is....men don't complain about things women don't do, so why do women complain about things men don't do. (And I mean some women, not ALL women, just to clarify)
