How come in the original series "Star Trek" there is an episode "Shore Leave" were Kirk encounters 2 people of his past,

@DunningKruger not at the beginning of the first prequel it wasn't until Khan and why they had some pasty British white guy Play Khan I'll never know but maybe I'm just kind of a stickler on Trek timeline

@Cindy No. The divergence happens literally when Kirk is born, as in the Abramsverse version, Kirk's father is killed when the Kelvin was attacked by the Narada. This didn't happen in the original timeline. Kirk's life in the alternative universe took an entirely different path to Starfleet than the original.

@DunningKruger in the Original Series, Episode "Shore Leave" "Ruth" & "Finnegan" were so much of his youth, I wish they would just bring those two characters back because William Shatner did star, (and this is going back) not the "Man on the Wing" episode of Rod Serling's 'Twilight" episode, but an earlier one were he is an astronaut & makes reference to "Ruth", Rod Serling, btw big fan,
