Well my appointment wasn't as good as your oldest boys

So I informed my neurologist that there is just no way I could stop holding back my tics and outburst especially right now. Work is about to get crazy busy and I'm going to be having 8 to 10 appointments a day for open enrollment for the next 6 to 8 weeks. So it's just impossible for me to not hold them back when I'm having appointments with people in the office. She was not happy.

I told her that I would not hold them back on the weekends. She still did not seem to like that. I was worried she was going to stop seeing me but she scheduled me another appointment in 2 weeks.

I just don't know if she understands what she's actually asking me to do. It's a little frustrating but other than that I really enjoyed her and she has helped me a lot. Guess we don't see eye to eye with everybody.

So now we're heading home and we're going to have chicken alfredo and caesar salad and make s'mores by the fire outside it's a nice night. Not sure if we're going to watch baseball or movies or just listen to music but I'm looking forward to it anyways.

Sometimes doctors fail to understand the essentials of their patients lives. She probably doesn't understand that you COULD lose your job if you let loose with the tics DURING your appointments.

Ask her to make a plan for you that takes reality into account. You CAN'T get yourself fired, for example.

@4meAndyou sometimes I think my doctor forgets that I am a grown man who has never had any help or therapy in dealing with my tics and at first. I do take the therapy she suggests to me very seriously. And I'm working on it but it is a very slow progress. I just don't think she understands this.
