Not looking forward to today

Today we are taking our baby girl to the neurologist. Joel and I have both been keeping track of the possible tic like movement.

It breaks my heart but I'm 100% sure it is. It's the same movement every time she does it. A head tilt and a popping sound. It happens mostly when she's not wearing her Air pods.

I was much younger than her when I first started having them. I was hoping it wouldn't happen. I wouldn't have to worry about it.

But I do know she will not have to live in fear like I did when I was a child.

Maybe it will be a mild form. My son has a very mild form of Tourette's and can deal with it very effectively. I know we are lucky. One day at a time...

@HeelsGalore I hope you are right. Mine is a very severe case and I have multiple tics a hour. Like you said one day at a time. We'll get though this.
I’m so sorry. I cannot imagine the worry you are dealing with.

@Pinkstarburst she's already has enough struggles without adding this as well.

Just a tic is usually related to a Much bigger problem, like epilepsy, or tardive

@WowwGirl she is on the spectrum and has a sensory disorder and I also have tourette's syndrome

@jshm2 first off she's 12 years old. She is on the spectrum and has sensory issues. The air pods are one of her coping methods we use to help keep her calm.
@jshm2 The AirPods can help with mental tics by blocking outside noises and overstimulation of the brain. It’s like using white noise to relax the brain and relieve anxiety.
