Summertime SAD

I know the current term for this is Seasonal Affective Disorder. I know most people get it in the winter when it becomes very rainy and overcast, but I feel like it really kicks my ass in the summer. The extreme heat, the fatigue, the sluggishness, the long and bright sunny days… it is prolonged days like these that bring about my depression whereas gloomy and rainy days rejuvenate and energize me and make me want to go outside and do things I normally put off all summer. I just find summer so unbearably overstimulating while gloomy and rainy days feel so calming for my nervous system and finally bring me peace and joy. Can anybody else relate to their SAD kicking in in the summer rather than in the winter?

My wife had an autoimmune disease and summer was devastating for her without A/C or a pool. She was often fatigued especially if it was uncomfortably humid. I on the other hand exhibit the usual SAD symptoms post holidays in the cold grey winter.
