people really don’t get it

i love my daughter more than anything, but people seriously annoy the hell out of me when they act like i shouldn’t be depressed just because i have her. like yeah, she makes me happy, she gives me purpose, but that doesn’t magically cure depression. “your daughter should help you out of depression” lol okay? it doesn’t work like that. i can love her more than life itself and still struggle some days. people really need to stop acting like having a kid automatically fixes your mental health.

Many people who are mentally healthy just have no clue.

No you’re absolutely right, you still need a solid support system. Having a strong man to lean on whom you are able to trust and depend on helps. Also as her mother you shouldn’t have to be undermined when it comes to parenting by family members. You should be in charge and respected. @LaurenRae

I know that you are right....being in a depression is tough....and your daughter alone cannot get you out of it....I hope for you it will get better soon...think about you

You can have good things in your life and still be depressed because it’s about where your focus is.. happiness is a frame of mind and if you focus on depressing thoughts instead of good optimistic ideas then you will be unhappy

No other person can bring you out of depression. That's an extremely ignorant take. Relationships only build on what's already there.
