If humor is the cure for depression why do comedians off themselves?

it's not the cure for depression no but it definitely helps brighten and lighten :)
I'm not sure it can help the really depressed though, more like the people who have figured out the basics, then it can be life enhancing <3

Comedians see the irony in the world more keenly than most people. Look at George Carlin...Anger and depression follow understand of how things really are..😷

Sounds like some popular cliche'. I do not see it as a cure. It seems more like a surface bandage and suppressing true feelings.

I've never met a comedian who actually thought he was funny.

Humor isn't the cure for depression.

It's not a cure. It's a copying mechanism and not the only and most sustaining one.

Maybe it's a distraction rather than a cure. A mask.

They're happy because they know the torment is nearly over.
